Ultra VNC is a powerful, easy to use and free - remote pc access softwares - that can display the screen of another computer (via internet or network) on your own screen. The program allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control the other PC remotely. It means that you can work on a remote computer, as if you were sitting in front of it, right from your current location.
I have a home network with 6 boxes, all of which behave themselves over the wired Linksys Switch network except for my main comp running XP. I just doesn't recognize one of the WinMe laptops, which of course is the one I most desperately need it to. (See other thread for details). Anyway, I decided to try VNC as an alternative way to reach this recalcitrant rig and was pleasantly surprised to find it worked. Now if I could only get it to allow me to copy files from one to another I'd be all set. Nothing fancy, just a DOC here and a Setup there. Is there any way to do this, perhaps through the 'Send To' function? I thought of an email attachment, but there should be a better way? Comments are closed.
